From Desk to Drinks: 3 Fall Outfits for Orange County Living

Fall in Orange County looks a little different than most places. Instead of bundling up in heavy coats and scarves, I’m usually planning outfits that can handle warm afternoons, breezy evenings, and everything in between. That’s why I love focusing on versatile pieces and effortless styling this time of year.
This season, my moodboard is all about warm tones and rich textures: earthy browns, olive green, cream, burgundy, navy, and a touch of animal print. I’m especially into stripes right now — they add such a classic but playful vibe to an outfit. And when it comes to textures, suede is a non-negotiable for me. I’ve had my eye on this suede jacket from Stradivarius (one of my favorite brands!) for weeks now. Their pieces are always chic and on-trend, plus ordering from their app is so easy — free shipping and returns is such a win.
Another must-have for me this fall is a solid pair of boots. I love the rugged, effortless vibe they bring to any outfit. I’ve been reaching for boots similar to the Steve Madden Rocky Brown Distressed Boots, but I found a more affordable dupe on Stradivarius’ site that I’m obsessed with. Pro tip: make sure to measure your feet before ordering. I’m usually a size 7, but on Stradivarius I’m a 6.5 — their sizing runs slightly different.
For this post, I pulled together three fall outfits that transition perfectly from desk to drinks in Orange County. They mix some of my favorite warm colors, stripes, and textures while staying light enough for the SoCal weather.
Look 1: The Neutral Base with a Twist
For this look, I wanted something casual but polished that could take me through a busy OC day. I started with my dark navy blue adjustable barrel jeans from Stradivarius — they’re such a flattering cut and feel effortless but on-trend. On top, I’m pairing them with this striped sweater from Bershka for a classic fall vibe that feels both playful and chic.
Now let’s talk shoes — because I’m a sucker for comfort. I’ve been living in my clogs this season, and the Project Cloud Clogs in Chestnut Brown are honestly a game-changer. They’re so easy to slip on and give that cozy fall feel without sacrificing comfort. Definitely a go-to for me.

Why I love it: This look is perfect for a daytime coffee run or working from a café in Costa Mesa. At night, you can elevate it by swapping in heeled boots or layering with that suede jacket I’ve been eyeing from Stradivarius. Effortless, cozy, and very SoCal fall.

Look 2: Cool Girl Energy with a Classic Twist
For the base, I had to start with a classic Elwood tee. If you haven’t shopped Elwood Clothing yet, let me put you on — you’ve been sleeping on one of the best LA streetwear brands. Their cuts and fits are chef’s kiss, and the quality is literally 100. I’m wearing the Oversized Crop Core Tee in Vintage White, and it’s the perfect staple for layering.
Now, let’s talk denim. GAP is having a serious comeback, and I am so here for it. Ever since I saw the KATSEYE ad, I knew I had to try their jeans — and wow. I was in utter disbelief at how well they fit. I grabbed the High Rise Barrel Jeans for around $45, which is such a steal considering the quality and cut. They’re comfy, on-trend, and give off that effortless OC street-style vibe.
To finish the look, I threw on this moto-style brown jacket from Aelfric Eden. It’s honestly the perfect transitional piece — lightweight enough for our SoCal weather but still gives that structured, edgy feel. It’s also super versatile, whether I’m grabbing coffee in Santa Ana or heading out for dinner in Costa Mesa.
Why I love it: This outfit feels casual but elevated. The combo of a crisp tee, perfectly fitting barrel jeans, and a moto jacket hits that sweet spot between chill and chic. It’s giving “I didn’t try too hard, but I still ate."
Orange County fall = 70° & sunny 🌞 so we’re keeping it light: warm browns, cozy stripes, and the perfect everyday sneaker — the classic Adidas Sambas 👟✨

Look 3: Sporty Chic with a Fall Twist
For the base, I had to go with a striped long sleeve — stripes are such a timeless fall staple and give that polished, preppy vibe without trying too hard. I’m styling it with a mini skirt for a flirty edge. The one I’m loving right now is from Edikted (link), but if you want something more wearable, Hollister has a skort option (link) that comes with shorts underneath — honestly a lifesaver.
For the top, I’m pairing the mini with this Scuffers Seas Blue Long Sleeve (link) — it’s simple but versatile, and stripes are having such a moment right now.
To finish it off, we’re bringing in boots — and Stradivarius always comes through with chic, budget-friendly options that nail that Euro-cool vibe. Think of them as the grounding piece that balances out the preppy mini with a bit of edge.
Why I love it: This look is giving “downtown cool girl” energy while still being totally wearable in SoCal. The mix of stripes, denim, and boots feels cozy enough for fall but light enough for OC’s sunshine. It’s flirty, fun, and a little nostalgic — like Gossip Girl meets West Coast.
